United Arts Grants OCACA Cultural Facilities (CF) Funding

About the OPPORTUNITY

To elevate Central Florida’s arts and culture to that befitting a diverse, world-class community.

Objectives of Cultural Tourism and Cultural Facilities Funding:

  • Enhance the Orlando area’s arts and cultural identity
  • Present quality arts and cultural experiences
  • Promote tourism

Eligibility and Criteria for Cultural Facilities (CF) Funding:

  • Orange County-based nonprofit museum or municipality-affiliated auditorium++
  • Project located in Orange County
  • Undisturbed use of land and building for 7/15/30/40 years*
  • Matching funds of at least $0.50:$1 of amount requested
  • Have a Nonprofit Search profile, with the “Reviewed” status
  • Complete one year of arts or cultural programming in Orange County, Florida, attracting tourists
  • Maintenance reserve in budget

The Cultural Facilities Funding grant process has reopened to the public for the 2025 program.

Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 9 a.m.-11:00 a.m. - Mandatory* virtual workshop for "How to Apply for Cultural Facilities Funding"*

  • *If you could not participate in the live/virtual workshop, follow up with United Arts/Trudy Wild (Trudy@UnitedArtsCFL.org) to confirm you have reviewed the program requirements in advance of the application deadline.

Nonprofit Search profile update due to Community Foundation Friday, February 7, 2025, by 5:00 p.m.

Letter of Intent (LOI) due Friday, Feb 14, 2025, 5:00 p.m. - Email intent to Trudy@UnitedArtsCFL.org; open an application online, and upload required information (project description, request category/purpose, request amount, total estimated project amount, location, lease/ownership documents, feasibility study (if new construction or acquisition), strategic plan (if request is for renovation/construction/acquisition);  financial statements (audit and IRS Form 990), and what funding and project scope (if you may current/pending awards from Orange County TDT ARC).

Wednesday, Feb 19, 2025, 5:00 p.m. - Last date to submit application narrative/components to Trudy@UnitedArtsCFL.org for pre-deadline staff review (Email Application Packet contents, to Trudy@UnitedArtsCFL.org, or notify that the draft, or various components are available online for cursory staff review.

Sun., March 2, 2025, 11:59 p.m. - Application deadline (apply online at https://unitedartscfl.org/grants/orange-county-grants-cultural-facilities-funding/

March TBD, 2025 - Site Visits of Applicants' Venues

April TBD, 2025, morning - Review Panel Meeting

Wednesday, May 14, 2025 - Advisory Council Meeting - Funding Recommendations; The final scores and funding recommendations will be posted here.

Tuesday, June 3, 2025, 9:00 a.m. - Orange County Board of County Commissioners Funding Approval

July 1, 2025 - Agreements Awarded; project period begins

FY25 Program: The application period of Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs Cultural Facilities Funding is open through March 2, 2025, 11:59 p.m.

The virtual workshop was presented live on Zoom, Thurs, Jan 16, 2025, from 9-11 a.m. and the recorded and PPT versions are posted after the event. This workshop is MANDATORY for any first-time facilities applicant, or someone who has not applied in the last 2 cycles. (NOTE: if you are unable to participate in the first workshop, you may view the recorded one online, or schedule a review with Trudy@UnitedArtsCFL.org.)
