United Arts of Central Florida has been selected as a 2026 Cross-Sector Impact Grant recipient by South Arts, receiving a $15,000 grant to support a new initiative that connects the arts with healthcare to promote community wellbeing.

The South Arts team joined Jennifer Evins, President & CEO of United Arts of Central Florida, and the United Arts staff for a check presentation recognizing the award and the collaboration it supports.

The South Arts Cross-Sector Impact Grant program supports partnerships between arts organizations and other sectors to address community challenges through creative approaches. The 2026 grant cycle focuses on initiatives that advance community health and wellbeing through the arts.

United Arts will use the grant to launch a Social Prescribing pilot program in partnership with Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida, with additional funding provided by The Pabst Steinmetz Foundation. Social prescribing is an emerging healthcare practice that connects patients with community-based activities—such as arts and cultural experiences—to support overall health and quality of life.

Through this pilot program, pediatric patients and their families will be connected with arts experiences designed to support wellbeing and long-term engagement with creativity.

The initiative reflects United Arts’ broader commitment to strengthening the role of the arts in community life and demonstrating how creative experiences can support health, connection, and resilience.

By working across sectors and partnering with healthcare providers, United Arts continues to explore new ways the arts can positively impact the lives of individuals and families throughout Central Florida.

United Arts is grateful for South Arts’ support in advancing innovative partnerships that connect the arts with community health and wellbeing.
