Pulse Remembrances Offerings Throughout June

Timucua is proud to partner with the SoDo Main Street District in offering Pulse remembrance wellness events throughout June, as well as featuring LGBTQ+ artists.

• “Songs for Change” with the Mudita Collective Orchestra on June 1: Cross-genre collaboration combining orchestral music and the voices of local songwriters.

• Rejuvenation Orchestra, Sam Rivers Legacy: Public Rehearsal on June 2: Dynamic ensemble of original members and eager young talents celebrating Sam River’s legacy.

  • Timucua invites all at 6 PM for an Open House to get to know Timucua, whether you’ve never been or a regular attendee! Enjoy a glass of wine on us!

• Energy Wheel Pulse Remembrance on June 5: This sonic experience combines a sound bath of crystal singing bowls and Tibetan bells with a modular synthesizer. Practitioners will focus on Pulse remembrance.

• Calixto Oviedo and Cuban Jazz Train Trio on June 7: Afro Cuban Jazz Concert and tour of Cuba’s roots and influences in jazz.

• Claude Bourbon Progressive Blues on June 8: Guitar performance that takes blues, Spanish, and classical stylings into uncharted territories.

• Apollonio Maiello Solo Piano Concert on June 9: Maiello’s work is located between contemporary classical music, minimal music and jazz.

• Meditation for Peace with Puja Madan Pulse Remembrance on June 12: Meditations designed to help you fall in tune with yourself, and bring harmony to your whole being. This month, Puja will be focusing on Pulse remembrance and healing.

• Saxophonist Jeff Pifher bring Socrates’ Trial to musical life on June 14 

• Marius Tesch and Strings, Chopin’s Piano Concerto on June 15: Timucua is a perfect (and the only) place to perform this music that gets played often, but rarely in the right context. Listen to this concerto, the way Chopin heard it himself.

• Authentic Selves Poetry Open Mic on June 16: Artists are encouraged to feature Pulse remembrance and Juneteenth works.

• Deep Listening Interactive Experience with Keith Lay on June 19: Keith will lead a sonic meditation that consists of reading the names of the 49 pulse victims, breaking them into phonemes, and exploring the sounds within the name. Musicians are invited to bring their instruments and add another layer of minor chords and tritones.

• EarthTonez Collective on June 22: Earthtonez Music Collective consists of two guitars, two keyboards, drums, electronics and vocals and experiments with blends of sound and color.

• Lightup Shoebox presents Silence, June 28-30: Where Shakespeare’s cross dressers meet Monty Python’s blithering knights at the end of the first millennium. This is part of Timucua’s WordPlay series.

Timucua Arts Foundation hosts performances almost every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during our season of August – June, weekly wellness Wednesday programs sponsored by Orlando Health, and six music festivals annually.
