FY25 Cultural Tourism Supplemental Sustainability Project Funding
Application Window: Mid November 2024 – January 26, 2025
Project Period: July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026
What: Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs announces a $100,000 fund for one or two arts projects that motivate our community to take action to protect, preserve, and position our world for long-term, human livability.
Who: Arts & Cultural Affairs is an office of Orange County Government that invests Tourist Development Tax (TDT) funds in over 40 organizations that attract tourists and improve the quality of life for Orange County residents. The Sustainability Committee seeks to ensure that our grandchildren will have the same or better quality of life as we do currently. Their concern is for the natural, built, and human environment. This funding is explicitly looking for the creation of artwork that arouses viewers for social action related to the natural environment.
Inspiration: A presentation on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the Orlando Science Center featured South Florida environmental artist and educator Xavier Cortada, who led a workshop for selected artists the following day. We encourage potential applicants to research his work for inspiration.
