ORLANDO – August 11, 2020 – United Arts of Central Florida (United Arts) announced the recipients of its second cycle of Orange County Venue Subsidy Grants.

In light of the financial impact on the arts community due to COVID-19, United Arts and Orange County administrators have modified the criteria of the Venue Subsidy Grants to make them accessible to groups with longer term venue leases. Fifteen organizations were awarded grants totaling $278,300. Ten were to assist with long-term leases; five organizations that were awarded grants in the first cycle forfeited those grants because of event cancellations and reapplied in the second cycle, switching from a venue rental subsidy to a long-term lease subsidy.

United Arts developed this grant program in conjunction with Orange County. It is funded through a $500,000 allocation from Orange County Government with the goal to bring more arts and cultural programs to Orange County. Due to COVID-19, for the time being, the focus is on organizations’ essential needs.
