ORLANDO – April 2, 2024 – United Arts of Central Florida is pleased to announce it will receive a $200,000 multi-year grant from Dr. Phillips Charities for operating support to build the capacity of the organization and fund a new position, senior director of development. This grant will allow United Arts to expand its existing development department to keep pace with the growth and diversity of the Central Florida region.

“This significant investment will help United Arts serve a rapidly growing arts and cultural community,” said Jennifer Evins, president and CEO of United Arts. “The arts and cultural sector has grown substantially in the last 35 years with the support of United Arts. This grant will help us meet the needs of the vibrant and thriving future envisioned for the people living in our community.”

A 2022 Arts Ecology Study in Orange County revealed the need for fundraising staff across the entire arts and cultural community. The study also identified the need for United Arts to build capacity and resources to serve the expanding arts sector and growing population.

The senior director of development will strengthen United Arts’ capacity to raise more funds to help meet the increasing needs of the community, allowing the organization to seek new donors from diverse cultures and the next generation of arts consumers and supporters. This new position will design and implement a comprehensive development and fundraising plan that aligns with investments in the mission of United Arts as well as strengthening the Collaborative Campaign for the Arts which benefits over 30 local nonprofit organizations.

The mission of United Arts is to enrich communities by investing in arts science and history. Adding this position is an important investment in the financial strength of United Arts which has a ripple effect on the entire cultural sector.
