ORLANDO – December 6, 2022 – United Arts of Central Florida (United Arts) announced the 33 recipients of its fourth cycle of Orange County Venue Subsidy Grants, increasing the number of grantees from last year’s 30 organizations.
“This program provides the community with even more intriguing and inclusive programming from Central Florida arts and cultural organizations,” said Jennifer Evins, President & CEO of United Arts. “We are continually thankful to Orange County for partnering with United Arts and providing this funding to create more opportunities for the arts in Central Florida.”
This grant program addresses the critical need for cultural nonprofits of all sizes to be better able to afford venues within Orange County to present their diverse programming. United Arts developed this grant program in conjunction with Orange County. It is funded through a $500,000 allocation from Orange County Government with the goal to bring more arts and cultural programs to Orange County.
A total of $500,000 will be awarded to the 33 grantees, exhausting the total allocation from Orange County. This will include 14 diverse organizations and four organizations will be receiving a grant from United Arts for the first time. Venue Subsidy grants will support more than 50 productions and/or exhibitions, in 27 unique venues in Orange County.
“The support of the Venue Subsidy grant is mission critical to provide Central Florida the opportunity to enjoy the highest quality performances by some of today’s most celebrated artists,” said Tammy Weber de Millar, Director at Orlando Flamenco. “Thanks in part to this grant, Orlando Flamenco will be able to once again offer a stellar performance by Flamenco luminary, Carlos Rodriguez, in our January 28, 2023, “Dracula,” but this time, to an audience including hundreds of Orange County Public School students!”
