About Art & History Museums of Maitland

Art & History Museums of Maitland (A&H) is a proud partner of the Collaborative Campaign for the Arts. A&H is comprised of four museums -- Maitland Art Center gallery, Maitland History Museum, Telephone Museum, and Waterhouse Residence Museum & Carpentry Shop -- that offer thought-provoking and hands-on experiences for all ages. The main campus, greater Orlando’s only National Historic Landmark, was founded as an artists’ retreat in 1937 by visionary artist and architect J. André Smith. Today, A&H’s contemporary art and local history exhibitions, local & international resident artist programs, and Art School, serve Central Florida and honor Smith’s legacy. The campus features acres of gardens and an outdoor chapel, with over 2,500 artistic carvings, sculptures, and murals. Today, A&H is recognized as a premier place for inspiration, exploration, and celebration.
