Calling Central Florida home for more than 12 years, Sarah Johnson is thrilled to join the team at United Arts of Central Florida to help make art thrive in our region. Sarah is a skilled fundraising professional with over 14 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, major gifts, and donor relations.
Throughout her career, Sarah has successfully raised over $150 million, stewarding major donors and fostering meaningful philanthropic partnerships across the arts, human rights, and social impact sectors. She previously held leadership roles at Asolo Repertory Theatre in Sarasota, Florida and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), where she managed multimillion-dollar fundraising portfolios and cultivated relationships with high-profile donors worldwide.
A strong believer in the power of collaboration, Sarah has trained and led diverse teams, driving innovative fundraising strategies that exceed annual and capital campaign goals. Her expertise spans corporate relations, grant writing, special events, and creating and running multiple online campaigns. Sarah attained her CFRE status in 2018, is certified in Myers-Briggs (MBTI) coaching, and has extensive experience in numerous CRM systems.
Sarah holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Criminology & Investigations and Communication Studies from West Virginia University, as well as an Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts. In her free time, Sarah enjoys experiencing live theatre as well as reading, traveling to new places, and spending time with friends and family.
