Carolina Carret joins United Arts of Central Florida as a Development Associate, returning home upon rounding out a few adventures.
She earned her B.A. in Legal Studies and Art History from Northwestern University while working as a Student Associate at the Block Museum of Art. The academic museum, proudly free and open to all, introduced her to the “art-world.”
Post-graduation, Ms. Carret deepened her Museum Studies in an internship hosted by the National Museum of the American Latino. In a parallel practicum at the Hirshhorn Museum & Sculpture Garden, Carolina strengthened her Museum Education & Interpretation practice while delving into art-world Communications for SIMONE LEIGH: a survey exhibition.
Now, Carolina aids the Development efforts of United Arts, helping power the arts in one of the places that made her.
With a particular passion for contemporary fine art, Carolina is grounded by cross-sector efforts to elevate Orlando and turn the town into a global creative capital. The promise of our local arts & culture scene has drawn her in enough to stay.
The blessing of being back home? Sharing what she loves with those she loves.
It means gathering family to see Nilo Cruz’s Anna in the Tropics at Orlando Shakes.
It’s kitchen-table tears as her Father reads El Punto Cubano aloud, a poem she witnessed Legna Rodríguez Iglesias bring to life in joint performance with Amanda Linares at the Orlando Museum of Art.
It means working to secure the Arts and ensure their thriving future, right here in Central Florida, for her family and for yours.
