Dr. Wendy Givoglu is the Provost for the Downtown & Winter Park Campuses & Transfer Initiatives at Valencia College, where she has worked for 24 years in various roles, including Interim Campus President, Dean of the School of Arts and Entertainment, and Professor of Humanities and Art History.  She holds a PhD in Texts and Technology from the University of Central Florida and a BA and MA in Humanities from Florida State University.  Dr. Givoglu’s research examines intersections between social media participation and arts engagement among millennials, particularly within Central Florida. Dr. Givoglu is an Arts enthusiast and advocate for collegiate and community arts programs.  She presently serves on the Board of Directors for United Arts of Central Florida, the Downtown Orlando Partnership, and the Evans Community School Cabinet, and has previous experience working with many other arts and educational advisory boards.  In addition, Dr. Givoglu has been the recipient of numerous awards, including two awards from the League for Innovation in Community Colleges, three National Endowment for the Humanities grants for summer study, a grant for summer study at Cambridge University from the English-Speaking Union Winter Park Branch, and the University Club of Orlando Endowed Chair in Humanities.
