David Odahowski is a seasoned lawyer, community leader, and foundation executive with nearly four decades of experience bridging the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. As President, CEO, and Board Member of the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation, he champions philanthropic freedom and excellence in nonprofit management.
David is deeply involved in civic and professional leadership. He serves as a Board of Trustees member and Community Development Partner for the Florida Chamber Foundation, contributing to the development of Florida 2030, a strategic plan for the state’s future. He also advises the Edyth Bush Institute for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at Rollins College and sits on the Board of Directors for United Arts of Central Florida.
A Founder and former Board Chair of the Florida Philanthropic Network, David has held leadership roles in organizations such as Nemours Children’s Hospital and the Southeast Council on Foundations. A recognized expert in philanthropy, he is a frequent speaker and writer on the subject and holds a Management Certificate from Rollins College.
David earned a B.S. in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, graduating with honors and receiving the James H. Albertson Award for leadership and scholarship. He earned his J.D. from Hamline University School of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Hamline Journal of Public Law.
A Florida resident since 1990, David is married with three children and a granddaughter who loves ballet and a grandson who enjoys classical music.
